Virkon™ - 10 lb Powder and Tablets can help you effectively clean nonporous surfaces from over 60 viruses, 33 strains of bacteria and several strains of fungi. The flexible parvovirus disinfectant makes this product one of the go-to cleaning agents for breeders, veterinary hospitals and people working with animals.
How Do You Use Virkon™ S Disinfectant?
Use the versatile Virkon™ S cleaner on various hard surfaces, agricultural equipment, boots, and instruments used in veterinary practices, stables, feed rooms, tack rooms, catteries and kennels.
The Virkon™ S cleaning agents have been used as a parvo disinfectant and may be beneficial in disinfecting areas exposed to other viruses, bacteria and fungi like:
- Equine arteritis
- Influenza virus
- Streptococcus causing 'strangles'
- Ringworm
- Mud fever
- Feline calicivirus

Virkon™ S helps disinfect surfaces from animal and zoonotic pathogens, like specific strains of bacteria, viruses and fungi. Proper usage, storage and disposal are required.
Usage
Use the broad spectrum disinfectant, detergent or wash for cleaning stables, equipment, or areas where companion animals frequent, like kennels, catteries, veterinary clinics and breeding facilities. Be careful not to contaminate food, feed or water sources.
Storage
Store in a sealed container and a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of animals and children. Don't mix with other chemicals.
Disposal
Virucide residue may be hazardous. Consult the label for proper disposal procedures.
The container is not suitable for reuse. Triple rinse the container before discarding or recycling it.
Precautions
The disinfectant powder has corrosive properties. Avoid contact with eyes and skin - use goggles, gloves and face shield when cleaning surfaces. Only use the product on nonporous hard surfaces and equipment.
Wash hands thoroughly with soap after use.
It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

COMPANION ANIMALS
Application: Use a 1% solution of Virkon® Broad Spectrum Disinfectant as a "one step" cleaning and disinfecting procedure (Remove gross filth and heavy soil deposits before application of the disinfecting/cleaning solution) for all surfaces, equipment, instruments, utensils and cages, caging system, within or associated with Veterinary Medical Hospitals, animal infectious disease wards, quarantine areas, Humane Society facilities, laboratory animal quarters, grooming and boarding facilities, kennels, catteries and animal transportation vehicles. Saturate surfaces with a 1% solution of Virkon® Broad Spectrum Disinfectant with a cloth, mop, mechanical spray, or sponge for a period of 10 minutes. Allow surfaces to air dry. Rinse waterers and feeders with potable water before reuse. Do not immerse metal objects in Virkon® Broad Spectrum Disinfectant for long period - 10 minutes is maximum contact time.
EQUINE PRODUCTION
Applications: For cleaning and disinfecting all hard, non-porous surfaces, equipment, utensils and instruments in veterinary practices, kennels, stables, catteries, etc.
Uses:
Stables, Horse Boxes, Box Stalls, Tack, Equipment, and Feed Rooms: Follow general instructions to remove animals from area to be treated. Thoroughly clean and dry (dry clean) surfaces, then wash the area manually or with pressure washer with a 1% Virkon® Broad Spectrum Disinfectant solution, saturating surfaces for a period of 10 minutes. Allow surfaces to air dry. Rinse waterers and feeders with potable water before reuse.
To Clean Blankets, Saddle Pads and Rugs: Not an approved use in California: Using a 1% solution of Virkon® Broad Spectrum Disinfectant, shampoo by hand or spray lightly with a hand-sprayer and leave to dry. Shake or vacuum to remove residue.
