It affects the gastrointestinal tract, destroying the lining of the small intestine and causing symptoms like fever, abdominal pain, vomiting and hemorrhagic loose stool.
While all dogs can catch this disease, puppies 6 weeks to 6 months of age and unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated dogs are most at risk. It spreads easily through direct dog-to-dog contact or contact with infected environments, people or feces.
In order to diagnose this disease, you can use a parvo rapid test kit. These tests contain specially selected antibodies that can detect the Parvovirus at home. It's designed to be quick and simple to use — but most importantly, it offers a high degree of accuracy.
