Instructions: Mares are prepared for transrectal ultrasonography (rectal palpation) by wrapping the tail or having an assistant hold it. Then evacuating the rectum. The probe is then inserted rectally and the cross-section of the uterus is visualized on the screen to detect, ovulation, pregnancy and fluid.
