Product Details
  • Albon® 5% Oral Suspension is effective for treating a wide range of bacterial infections in dogs and cats
  • Effective against Coccidiosis, Bronchitis, Pustular Dermatitis, Anal Gland Infections and more
  • Low-dosage, rapidly absorbed and long-acting
  • Comes in easy-dosing tablets or custard-flavored oral suspension
  • Orders for the 1oz size or multiple quantities of the 1oz size will be received all together in one plastic bottle.

Albon® is a liquid oral antibiotic for bacterial infections in dogs and cats. A single dose of this low-dosage medication rapidly absorbs and stays in an animal's blood for up to 24 hours, helping them heal.

How Albon® Works

When a bacterial infection occurs, folic acid supplements the bacteria, causing it to multiply and spread. Albon® inhibits bacteria from producing folic acid, slowing their growth from a lack of essential proteins.

This specifically works against common bacterial infections and the conditions they cause, such as:

  • Tonsilitis
  • Pharyngitis
  • Bronchitis
  • Pneumonia
  • Wound infections
  • Abscesses

Administration Information

This liquid medication comes in a custard flavor for easy administration - however, it is also available in easy-dosing tablets. Albon® can be taken with food to disguise the taste, though it isn't necessary for metabolization or safety reasons. As always, consult your veterinarian for specific instructions before administering.

Important Safety Instructions

Keep the following tips in mind Albon® use:

  • For best results, give the animal the entire course of medication before stopping, even if their symptoms are better. Completing the medication prevents the infection from recurring or getting worse.
  • If no improvements are made in two to three days, contact your vet.
  • During the treatment period, animals should maintain a high water intake.
  • Albon® is only intended for animal use.

Benefits of Albon®

Albon® is a top choice for vets to prescribe because it is:

  • Helpful for supporting animals with bacterial infections
  • Available in many dosage forms, customized for the size and breed of the animal
  • A palatable flavor for easy medication administration
  • Long-acting, so a single dose goes a long way

Disposal of Unused Prescription Medications

  1. Return unwanted or unused medications to Revival Animal Health in person, or visit www.disposemymeds.org to find a pharmacy near you.
  2. A secondary method of drug disposal is to remove the unwanted medication from any wrappers or containers and place it in a plastic bag with moist coffee grounds or cat litter. This can be disposed of in the regular garbage collection.
  3. Please do NOT dispose of unwanted meds down the drain or toilet, as this may eventually find its way into the human water supply.

Learn more about disposal of unused prescription medications here.

Disposal of Medical Sharps

  1. When you're finished with the syringe and needle, do not try to recap, remove, bend or break the needle. This is where most injuries occur.
  2. Dispose the syringe and needle immediately in a nearby sharps container. All sharps must be deposited in a puncture-proof container. Make sure your storage location is child and animal proof.
  3. As with all product handling, make sure you wash your hands after handling medical sharps.

Disposal of Sharps Container

  1. When your sharps container is half-full, sift dry Portland Cement throughout the sharps. Fill the container with water, and rotate until the cement is mixed and the sharps have been distributed throughout the cement mixture. Let cement dry for 24 hours.
  2. Seal the lid of the container tightly and use duct tape to seal. Label the container "Livestock Sharps" to properly identify the contents.
  3. Dispose of the containers in accordance with your state's regulations.
