Revival Animal Health Joins Forces with Great Companions
New approach expands pet care product line with recognized large bird brand
Orange City, Iowa (April 2, 2007) - Revival Animal Health announced the combining of resources with Great Companions, a leading supplier of foods, toys, and supplies for caged birds, based in Warren, Minnesota. The coming together expands Revival's pet healthcare line, which is primarily focused on serving dog and cat breeders and pet owners, by adding a nationally-recognized brand of pet bird nutritionals.
"It has always been Revival's goal to be a complete and trusted source of healthcare products and other pet supplies for pet breeders and owners coast to coast," reported Roy Nielsen, Revival owner and president. "Adding a reputable brand of caged bird feed and accessories helps complete our offering and be a single solution source."
According to Jason Mischel, owner of Great Companions, 60 percent of bird owners also have dogs. "The line extension for Revival makes good sense," he explained. "Our customers will continue to receive the best service and support through a seamless transition, and they will benefit by having Revival's knowledge and experience in pet healthcare as well."
Revival and Great Companions share some common synergies, according to the company owners. Both business are family owned, founded by the current owners' parents in their Midwest homes to serve a niche pet care market. Both are direct sales, catalog-based businesses boasting consumer loyalty and a strong, dedicated employee team.
"Great Companions' customers respect and trust their brand of bird foods and nutritionals, as well as their customer service personnel," said Nielsen. "That high level of quality and value will continue as we merge the two organizations - and in fact we hope to expand the Great Companions brand into products for other animals."
Revival Animal Health's product line includes over 3,000 items - including nutritional supplements, grooming supplies, training and containment products, vaccines, and other accessories and supplies. Great Companions adds another 600 products to that offering - mainly foods, toys, and containment for large pet birds. The coming together will result in approximately 10 percent additional annual sales revenue for Revival, and plans are to continue to develop new products for all pet owners and breeders.
According to Nielsen, both Revival and Great Companions rely on direct feedback from customer and vendor partners to develop new nutritional products based on the latest science and research. "We are constantly working to improve our products for optimal animal healthcare, because we know that pets are truly part of the family."
Revival is an FDA approved facility. It offers a line of nutritional supplements marketed under the Doc Roy brand. "Doc Roy," the founder of Revival Animal Health, is a doctor of veterinary medicine.
