My husband found it easy to assemble, and my cats love it. I would, however, recommend it more for households with smaller cats (as opposed to, say, a 20-lb Maine Coon kitty) because it's not a "heavy" cat tree ... my guys especially love the bed at the top and it's so funny to see them stick their heads through the hold in the third level and grab onto the post with their front paws! We also have the "short" version of this same cat tree, at another window in our living room (we've positioned this tall version in front of the glass in the front door, which we never use) so they get the best of both worlds!
