FRONTLINE Plus for Cats (19120-V)
Can I give it Zero Stars?
I bought Frontline Plus to control fleas on my two adult cats. It did NOTHING. I waited a few days, knowing it can take a little time to demostrate killing of eggs and larvae. My cats continued to have hatchouts of viable fleas unabated. I vainly promised Aphrodite and Beauregard that it would get better. I was fleacombing them daily looking for improvement. It never helped at all. It was completely impotent. My combing was doing more good than the Frontline. There is something wrong with this formula.

We have 35 to over 60 dogs and puppies here at any given time. I have used the Frontline product almost exclusively, including the spray for pups that come in sick and flea infested. I consider this product excellent.
I read a disapointed review who wants to give a "0" rating because it "did not work for her cats." If your house or yard is overrun with fleas of course your pets will be bringing in the fleas from outside OR be attacked by the fleas in the house. After they bite the pet they will die as the product claims.
In her case, she needs to de-flea her house properly and I would suggest spraying or using a product to also use in the lawn that is safe for her pets too.
We have had over 1000 dogs in the rescue and most at our home, plus we were breeders before going into "all breed type" rescue. We also had two personal cats who since died of old age. The only time I don't use Frontline is when we have a pet with flea allergies (I use Comfortus then as recommended by our vet) or when I have donated product from a manufacturer or from a Project supporter.
A new product claims to "repel" fleas but if you have a flea infested house or yard, I question if any product will "fully repel" the aggressive parasites.
I live in Southern Missouri where fleas are a problem year round.
Do not buy it!!
I live in FL and I have purchased this product for my cats. It works for
about 2 days and than it stops working. I used to used it all the time
years ago and it worked but I guess the fleas are now resistant to it.
Buy Advantage and save yourself some money.
Front line Plus Works!
If you're using FrontLine Plus, and your pet still has fleas, your flea problem isn't coming from your pet(s), although they still need the protection for their health!
This year I have seen yards and homes infested with fleas. Even pet owners that take great care of their animals!
Treat your home, your yard, check other animals (including birds) that come into your yard!
If you've treated and you still have an infestation, it may be time to call a professional!
There are products out there that even with most heavy waves of fleas &/or ticks, with persistence, you can get rid of them!
Vacuuming, even 3x a day may be necessary if they have gotten a foothold in your carpet, although this is pretty rare that they get this bad!
Using Front line Plus is often very effective with carpet treatment, such as Enforcer and especially with an outdoor treatment.
Be aware that any place you travel can be a potential source! Work, school, the grocery store, etc.!
Getting together & treating neighbors and friends at the same time absolutely makes a difference!
If you are not sure which products are OK to use together for your pets and children, talk to a professional! Your veterinarian and pest control company can help you choose what is right for you and your home, even if it is non-toxic solutions such as food grade DE! (NEVER EVER use DE made for a swimming pool, as these often contain chemicals that may be harmful to you & your family!
Many pet stores carry food grade D. E., which is often very effective! Follow the directions, and when applying, use a mask!
Keep your pets and yourselves healthy & happier, and get rid of the fleas!
I have used fronline plus on my breeding dogs for years and have never had any trouble but I never give them the full dose and only use it when I see fleas. I raise Toy Fox Terriers and Mini RatTerriers. I even put it on my pregant bitches and have never had any adverse affects. My neightbor used Front line Plus with his heart guard medicine and his toy dog lost control of his hind quarters witrh in a half hour of treatment. The Vet said it could have been the combination of the two drugs. I never give more than one thing at a time and always space it out.
