This shampoo really works. I have tried everything from expensive allergy shots to home remedies. My dog had a terrible oder, he smelled like a dirty mop and he dropped skin flakes everywhere. We couldn't let him on any furniture nor could we enjoy his company. This shampoo cleared his skin condition. No more shots or expensive Vet. bills for this little guy's condition!

I also am using with the shampoo Virbac ResiCORT leave in lotion. We now have our little dog back in our lives!

Ketochlor is the only shampoo I will use on my English bulldog. Her allergies are pretty severe and this shampoo once a week keeps the bacteria down to a manageable level. She is much more comfortable with this shampoo than with oatmeal types. I only wish someone would have told me a bulldog was this expensive...

Hi, I reviewed this product about 6 months ago. When I went to reorder I was advised about the VET Basics products, which was around 3 dollars cheaper than Virbac product. The "off Brand" was good, the shampoo coverage was actually better than Virbac. However, it just didn't do as well in the "control odor" department. If your doggie doesn't have a strong odor, like a mop, it would be a wonderful product. So, this time around I will be going back to the Virbac shampoo.
Can't do without it

My yellow lab has allergies to seemingly everything in the known universe. She also has MRSP, which is a methicillin resistant staph infection on her skin. (MRSP stands for Methicillin Resistant Stapholoccocus Pseudointermedius which forms circular sores on the skin with a waxy scab where hair falls out. It spreads quickly and covers the whole body; leaves the dog with bare patchy red skin sores, looking mangey, and takes a while for the hair to grow back. ) It is secondary to her allergies......She scratches, gets a cut from her nails, and the staph start multiplying. The Ketachlor shampoo keeps it at bay if used once a week, every single week. I am sure to let it sit and soak in for at least 10 minutes for every shampoo. Since MRSP is treatable with only a very few medications--the strongest of which can be very harsh on the liver and kidneys--I am sure to stay on top of her weekly shampoos. The doggy dermatologist explained that there is a time release component to the shampoo and it keep the bacteria and yeast from colonizing on the skin. I have found that if I go longer than 7 days exactly, I will see signs of the MRSP within a couple of days. The shampoo is expensive, but so are vet office visits and some of the medications. I am grateful for this product and grateful that I can get it online at a lower cost than at the vet's office. Revival has always been very good about getting my orders to me in a timely manner. And that's pretty important in my case because once the staph infection starts up, it can be difficult to get under control again. Though the shampoo is expensive, I hope that Revival or Virbac won't raise the price on it as it's all I can do to afford my allergic dog. She has blown through her college fund already, isn't employed, and eats a special and expensive diet as it is. When did having a dog get to be so much work and cost so much? Maybe Kodi can be the poster girl for Ketachlor Shampoo??
Excellent Product!

I was advised by Dr Sargent of PVSEC Dermatology to use this product to control the yeast that will settle on the skin and was she ever right! I bathe my dogs once a week with it and not only does it control the itch but, they look great and smell equally as good. I have used this product for nearly 7 years now and will not change. As far as the lather is concerned, the first application of an oatmeal and aloe shampoo will take care of that.
