Excellent for Most Pet Eye Infections!!!
Save yourself money. If your pet has an eye infection, you may not need to take it to a vet. The vet will most likely prescribe this same product or something similar to it. My vet actually did prescribe this product and charged me like $35 for it but here, you can get it cheaper. Just apply a small strip of this ointment into the corner of the eye and massage the eyelids up and down gently to help spread it. It is a steroidal treatment so make sure you don't use it too much, only as directed in the directions. It works like a charm every time and I have 7 pets.
Great Buy and Wonderful to have on Hand
The previous reviewer is incorrect. This is NOT a Steroid. This is a broad spectrum ANTIBIOTIC!!! It is a great treatment to have on hand in case you can not get to the vet. Never use something in the eye that has a steroid in it without consulting a vet, as you can cause serious scar tissue damage if the eye has been scratched. If you are not sure if something contains a steroid, please consult your vet.
My vet wanted $34 per tube. I found it here for $14 how could I not buy 2 tubes for almost the same price of 1 tube at my vet? I don't need the product right now but wanted to stock up since it was unavailable from the manufacture for so long. I feel good knowing I have some for my cats eye's on hand if they need it.
I have used this ointment in the past for pinkeye in my goats and when I needed it this summer, the vet was out and so gave me some gentamycin opthal solution....which did not work....once the terramycin came in the mail I used it and had control of the pinkeye in a few days. I try to always have a tube or two and the price here is great!
