With all the changes in airline rules for shipping a pet, this is the only crate that is 'airline' ready and nothing has to be done to it. You now cannot use the crates that snap together with plastic latches unless you drill holes through several places and physically place a metal nut and bolt through. Also, no plastic doors or latches. This crate is sturdy and well built. I would like to see it cost slightly less, but it is still a good value for the quality you're getting.

I love these crates. They stack easily, clean up easily, and are a good sturdy design. This is the only crate I will use for shipping a dog. I did prefer the "old" design that had the same 4 indents top and bottom; that made stacking much easier and, using a short round PVC pipe, you could "lock" them together when they were stacked.

These continue to be the best carrieres I can us for shipping cats in cargo.

As a breeder of Nikarl Siberian Cats I usually use the Petmate Ultra Vari Kennel when shipping kittens to their new homes. They are also used for transporting cats to and from the veterinary clinic, as well as when traveling on vacations with my cats. Every cat has his/her own carrier, a policy I advise other pet owners to adopt. I send all my puppies home with this crate! Love that it is sturdy, has great ventilation and door is easy to operate yet secure.
