Stainless Steel Flat-Sided Pails (18330-V)
I bought two of the flat sided pails, thought it was a great idea, but our dogs do not like to drink out of them. They do drink out of our older pail that a friend gave us all the time so being a pail is not the issue. Also, they have rusted on the bottom even though they are inside all the time. I would not recommend them and suggest that Revival investigates the reason the dogs don't like them. Something in the alloy?
Bought 12 + in 2006 and still used by our Pack of 24 Siberians
Having lived in Southern California our Siberians were used to drinking out of stainless steel water buckets. We moved to Alaska in 2005 and bought some rubber buckets to "weather" our Arctic climate. They absolutely hated them and we had a challenge getting them to drink enough to stay adequately hydrated. The water still froze solid and when we added hot water to the frozen mass, it smelled like we were at a tire store. I was again looking to return to the stainless buckets, as our others had been donated to Rescue in CA when we relocated. I saw these pails and ordered 12+ of them. We use them year round and they are still in great shape. Our Pack numbers change with the addition of rescue Siberians. Currently, there are24 here and these buckets look like new and can take our minus 35 degree temperatures without a problem. I am ready to order more of them now that we have more fenced areas for them.
I've purchased pails, buckets and dishes from you for at least ten years. This year, the pails were poorly made, with thin hooks that can barely stay bent under the weight of the water, let alone a dog jumping up and putting its weight on it. The handle is also thin and flimsy. I'm deeply disappointed with the lack of quality!
This has been a good pail for our lab who spends her time between outdoors and indoors. The only problem that I have had so far is the hooks coming off like some others have also experienced. Our lab does get rough with the pail and likes to play in her water so I am not real surprised the hooks eventually came off. The pail is good quality so instead of looking for a different product I simply drilled 2 holes in the flat side of the pail where the hooks used to be and used some metal S-hooks. This has worked extremely well and gives us a great solution for making sure our dog has water when outdoors.
Great Kennel Pails
I purchased two of these 6 qt. flat back pails with hooks for my Chessie's food/water pails. Not only are they are of nice heavy duty quality, they are attractive as well. I like the stable hook feature since large breasted dogs should be fed with an elevated bowl.. The handle is heavy duty also.I will order more for my outside kennel as well!
