D/EARTH (Diatomaceous Earth) (19260-V)
used this product on a feral cat I care for - I cannot place topical flea med on this cat but applied this powder w/a brush and it has dramatically reduced the coat chewing and pulling out hair behaviour...yeah! Certainly recommend to those desiring a less toxic option.
I love this stuff. I buy it all the time..
I bought this for my cat. I heard it worked well for fleas. I rubbed the powder into her fur, and I used it it my carpet. I am not impressed by this product. I still am finding fleas on my cat. I bought this because of the reviews I had read. But it didn't work. I would not recommend this product.
D/Earth is Awesome!
A friend recommended this to us for getting rid of ticks and it really works!!
"Diatomaceous Earth has been long known as a useful tool against bugs and parasites. You cannot wait until your home is infested with fleas to use it. One easy way to determine if you have a flea problem is to place a plain white sheet of paper on the floor over night. In the morning you will see little black spots from where the fleas have been. If it is covered, I would suggest an exterminator coming in. If you have a few spots, wash all of your dogs, their bedding and toys, and dust your carpets and anywhere the animals hangs out with Diatomaceous Earth.
I also use Diatomaceous Earth when my puppies are young (3-6 wks) and start to have loose and excessively smelly stools (this is after I have already wormed them, so I know worms are not the issue). Puppies can pick up Giardia so easily from Mom when she comes in from outdoors. I mix it in their water. If you look at the "dust" from Diatomaceous Earth you will be able to see that it's not just another gimmick. This dust has sharp edges that actually scratch and penetrate the outer layer of the bug or parasite and causes it to die. I would not live without Diatomaceous Earth, and have animals......also works for birds!! (However I am not aware of the Diatomaceous Earth's ability to cut down on mosquitos)."
