The McCulloch Medical One Puff is a hand-held, two-part aspiration/resuscitation instrument designed to clear breathing passages and stimulate first breaths of newborn puppies and kittens. The Aspirator Pump "A" suctions mucus out of airways and the Resuscitator Pump "B" provides a controlled puff of air to stimulate respiratory reflex. Because the One Puff delivers a controlled amount of air (5-10 ml), it is a safe and effective alternative to traditional methods such as mouth to mouth resuscitation. It is especially effective for C-section births. In addition, the Resuscitator Pump "B" may also be attached directly to oxygen and the Resuscitator Mask "B" can be detached and used as an oxygen and/or anesthesia mask. The McCulloch Medical One Puff includes a clear-front carrying/wall mounted case and two-year warranty against defects.
For animal use only.
Designed specifically for use on newborn puppies and kittens; especially effective for C-section births.

Directions for Use:
Prior to use, select the Aspirator Mask and trigger the assembly clearly marked with the letter "A". You should experience a slight vacuum when holding the assembled unit against your arm while pumping. Conversely, you should experience a slight pressure when holding the assembled resuscitation unit clearly marked with the letter "B" against your arm while pumping. The trigger assembly should move in and out freely.
Aspiration: After the newborn is delivered, pick the newborn up gently with its head facing downward at a 45° to 90° angle from the horizon. The puppy or kitten should have the handler's hand gently supporting and massaging the thoracic area (the area behind the front legs and in front of the stomach. Gravity will assist in clearing the respiratory passages. Place the Aspirator Mask "A" securely over the muzzle making sure the muzzle in clearly in position to receive air movement. The mask diaphragm is very flexible but taut enough to assure a safe seal. Select the trigger assembly clearly marked with the letter "A". Compress the trigger once while continuing to massage the chest gently.
Resuscitation: Holding the newborn in the same manner as described above, select Resuscitator Mask "B" and secure over the muzzle making sure the muzzle in clearly in position to receive air movement. Select the trigger assembly clearly marked with the letter "B". Compress the trigger once while continuing to massage the chest gently. Remove the mask from the muzzle after each pump. Allow a few moments to establish if respiratory reflex is stimulated; if not, repeat.
It may be necessary to alternate from aspiration to resuscitation or vice versa depending on the animal and its respective condition. Do not pump excessively as this could have detrimental effect on the animal. Normally, only one or two puffs are all that is necessary for desired results.
To Clean: Use a solution of 1 part bleach to 20 parts water. Dry thoroughly.
