Polymyxin B sulfate, oxytetracycline hydrochloride, petrolatum base

Administer topically to the eye 2-4 times daily.

This Product is Very Useful To Have On Hand

Terramycin Ophthalmic is one of the best medications to have on hand. It is useful for dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and horses. The price has increased slightly, but that does not affect how well it fights eye infections and reduces irritation. Use at the first sign of eye discharge, and you will notice rapid improvement. This product works especially well after an eye flush to remove any dust, dirt or irritants.

The previous reviewer is incorrect. This is NOT a Steroid. This is a broad spectrum ANTIBIOTIC!!! It is a great treatment to have on hand in case you can not get to the vet. Never use something in the eye that has a steroid in it without consulting a vet, as you can cause serious scar tissue damage if the eye has been scratched. If you are not sure if something contains a steroid, please consult your vet.

Save yourself money. If your pet has an eye infection, you may not need to take it to a vet. The vet will most likely prescribe this same product or something similar to it. My vet actually did prescribe this product and charged me like $35 for it but here, you can get it cheaper. Just apply a small strip of this ointment into the corner of the eye and massage the eyelids up and down gently to help spread it. It is a steroidal treatment so make sure you don't use it too much, only as directed in the directions. It works like a charm every time and I have 7 pets.
