Product Reviews
Rating:
PhosMet Efficacy
By: City Farmer
From:
Field trials with the maximum concentration of phosmet recommended, that being something less than 0.4% concentration, proved ineffective against demodex mites. The good news is that extended contact with 0.2% and 0.3% solutions applied to 50% of body surface area does not result in sufficient adsorption to reach the level of noticeable affect on humans. This confirms that contact insecticides are ineffective against demodex due to their high resistance to adsorption through their exoskeleton, which is a layer of scleroticized sugar polymer, versus the usual chitin structure of typical insects.
