PetAg Nursing Kits

  • Nursing Kits promote natural feeding of milk replacers to small animals
  • Includes elongated and balloon style nipples for longer palates
  • Bottle has graduation marks to prevent over and under feeding
  • Bottles and nipples can be sanitized with boiling water
  • Flexible silicone nipples are latex-free
PetAg® Nursing Kits contain the equipment needed to feed newborn animals. The 2 oz Kit, designed for smaller animals, includes one 2 oz (60 ml) bottle, three regular nipples, one elongated nipple, one balloon nipple and one cleaning brush. The 4 oz Kit, made for larger animals, includes one 4 oz (120 ml) bottle, two regular nipples, a natural look and feel nursing nipple and one cleaning brush. Each bottle features graduation marks on the side in tablespoon (15 ml) increments to make monitoring food intake easier. All nipples are flexible, latex-free, silicone nipples and replicate the natural feeding action of a mother's nipple. There are no holes in the nipples allowing you to customize the flow of the formula or weaning food. Both bottle and nipples are durable enough to stand up to hard use and can be sanitized with boiling water.
Replacement packages of 2 oz Regular Nipples and 2 oz Elongated Nipples can be purchased separately. Both the 2 oz Regular Nipples and 2 oz Elongated Nipples will fit on luer-lock syringes.
PetAg® 2 oz Kit includes:
1 (one) 2 oz (60 ml) bottle with graduated markings in tablespoon increments
3 (three) regular silicone nipples
1 (one) balloon silicone nipple (for longer palates, wildlife and exotic species)
1 (one) elongated silicone nipple (for longer palates, wildlife and exotic species)
1 (one) bottle cleaning brush

PetAg® 4 oz (120 ml) Kit includes:
1 (one) 4 oz (120 ml) bottle with graduated markings in tablespoon increments
2 (two) regular silicone nipples
1 (one) natural look and feel nursing nipple
1 (one) bottle cleaning brush

Additional 2 oz Regular Nipples and/or 2 oz Elongated Nipples can be purchased separately and are packaged with 5 (five) nipples per each package.
Directions for Use: Before use make a hole in the nipple using one of the following methods: cross cut nipple with a razor blade or using a strong needle or cuticle scissors, enter and exit the tip of the nipple as though you were making a very small stitch or snip, pull the needle out removing a small piece of the nipple. Check the nipple flow with water. A steady drip or thin stream should be achieved when a slight pressure is applied to the nipple. If one or more of the animals is ill use a different bottle or feed ill animal last. Wash bottle, cap, and nipple with hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly after each feeding session. If animal is too small or weak to nurse, feed with a syringe or eye dropper until the animal is capable of nursing from a bottle.
For use with many species of small animals including puppies, kittens, rabbits, and other wildlife or exotic pets.

Do not use for chewing kittens
By: Lucky Kitty
From: Los Angeles
Our 4.5 week old kitten swallowed the end of the nipple and we nearly lost her. We thought the dog had bitten it off (long story), and we didn't know what was wrong when she started vomiting and diarrhea 1 week later. After a trip to the emergency vet and anti-emetics, she improved and nipple came out (approx 10 days after swallowed) in the poop which was when we figured out what happened. It had swelled to a very large size in her system. We are lucky she is alive. I would never use these again, or switch immediately to dropper or syringe once they start to try to chew.

Lifesaver but pay attention

I simply can not believe the review of needing to change the nipples several times during a feeding. Clearly a mistake. The only times I have run into a problem is with an older kitten that does not want to wean and they chew. Have we ever had one chew off a nipple in the 14 years I have been bottle feeding, yes. Pay attention to what the kitten is doing. We have had two swallow the nipple tip and neither one ever showed any signs of distress or needing any type of surgery. They simply pooped it out. The only possible problem I can see is maybe the feeder is cutting the tip in a way that severely weakens it. I squeeze the tip between my fingers and using very tiny sharp scissors cut a small rounded hole. I do this instead of making an X at the top which I believe could compromise the integrity of the nipple. Hope this helps.

Dangerous Design

The rubber nipples are too soft of a rubber and are easily chewed and swallowed by the baby animal. In my case five 3 week old kittens. The rubber is also not made to dissolve in stomach acid should a baby swallow a piece of the nipple. I had to replace the nipples 2 or 3 times during each feeding. We did have one kitten that swallowed a piece of the nipple and ended up with a blockage, so $600 later we had the nipple removed and the kitten has made a full recovery. I am a volunteer at a cat rescue and I've read a lot of blogs online and many other people have had the same issue and in most cases the kitten died or was euthanized because they didn't have $600 to have the surgery. This product is a very poor design and dangerous to use. I recommend a syringe for feeding and will never use the product again.
