Not accurate at all, its about -5 degrees off

bought this a few years ago and used it for two weeks to watch for a lab to go into labor. only to find that it was not accurate. when we checked it to a digital it was 2 degrees off. Glad that we checked, puppies came within two days and we would not have been ready for them if we would have stuck with the ear thermometer. spoke with the vet office about this and the said they ran into the same problem and will not use the ear thermometer. It sits in the bottom of the dog supply tote.
