    Home Again

As a breeder, I always microchip my dogs and puppy litters. After using Home Again, I realized the metal tag was not even readable after only one year....I called them and customer service was beyond HORRIBLE. They want more money to replace them (AKC chips are replaced life long) and it took over a MONTH to finally get the new tag while my dog had useless ID. I will NEVER use Home Again, and found AKC Reunite to be much faster, and far more concerned with actually keeping ID available for your dog.

Travel assistance is a false advertising scam

Just wanted to share my personal experience with Home Again microchips.

After 8 years, My Home Again microchipped cat was found at a shelter in TX, and I live in GA! The shelter people were super nice and even took my Smudge home so she wouldnt get sick while I got travel assistance. I contacted Home Again that day, and they said I would have to wait 24-48 hrs to hear from travel assistance. I got my own travel accommodation for her and she was home within 48 hours. I had to contact Home Again again to let them know she was home so they could pay for her travel.....which they market so much. Long story short, after a month and a half of multiple emails and phone calls to the company, and after being ignored by the "higher up" who was supposed to be helping me, I called to let them know I was a Veterinary Technician and would never sell Home Again to anyone because their service was so terrible and if I had waited for them to help with the "travel assistance" that they falsely advertise, my cat would still not be home. I am extremely disappointed in HomeAgain, as a veterinary professional who has sold these microchips in the past.

This was the first time I did a microchip myself. It was easy, great instructions and very economical.

    Chip moved

    Cons:
HomeAgain chip was placed between the shoulder blades of our Vizsla by our vet, and now it is at the bottom of her ribcage, easily visible under the skin. Vet verified with a scanner that it is the microchip. If the dog is ever lost, I doubt anyone will scan under her for a chip, so it is totally useless. So much for the patented anti migration feature...
