The Bite Free® Collar protects post-procedure wounds without letting your dog lose peripheral vision. This collar gently prevents a patient's head and muzzle from reaching any area behind the patient's neck. Designed for comfort and long-term use, so your dog can easily eat, drink and sleep during the whole recovery process. It's also adjustable, enabling a correct and comfortable fit. For active patients, there are removable stabilization straps that allow plenty of movement while still providing protection. Not recommended for protecting wounds on a patient's foreleg and feet or facial area and ears. Made in USA.
Neck Circumference: 19" to 23"
Collar Width: 5"
Instructions: Open the collar, foam side up. Place Bite Free collar around your pet's neck, foam side against the neck. Correct fit should be from the base of the skull, to where the neck meets the shoulder area. Bring both ends of the collar toward each other. Attach the middle 1"-wide strap to the Velcro at the other end of the collar (not too tight). Next, attach the two ¾" straps to their Velcro. You can now adjust for tightness. We suggest that you adjust the collar to leave enough room to slip your index finger between the pet's neck and collar.
Correct fit will not allow pet's muzzle to reach any section of their body behind the neck area. Please check to see that the collar is not too tight on your pet. A daily check is recommended.
Optional Stabilization Chest Strap: The chest strap can help maintain correct fit and function. If you use the chest strap, you may pull one end so the buckle sits high behind the pet's neck. This enables the pet to lie down in comfort. Tighten strap until you can slip your index finger under the strap.
Washing: Bite Free collar may be washed in warm water with soap. Do not use bleach.
