I bought this shampoo to use on all my rescue and foster dogs. They frequently come in with damaged skin. Since we rescue pitbull-type dogs, they are short coated and prone to skin issues. This was supposed to be a gentle alternative to the harsher medicated shampoos. One of our dogs has chronic demodex as well, which the ingredients in this are supposed to help prevent new outbreaks by cleaning out hair follicles. It is supposed to be moisturizing and healing.

It did NONE of these things. It actually made all the dogs WORSE. It did NOT moisturize. All the dogs, including those with healthy coat and no issues beyond being slightly dirty, developed hot spots and dry damaged skin. They developed skin bumps from it. IT HARMED HEALTHY DOGS!

Our poor boy with chronic demodex developed huge scabs and pustules all over his body. We ended up spending hundreds at the vet to find out that DermaBenSs GAVE him a yeast infection and allergic reaction! He wasn't having a new demodex outbreak; the shampoo was hurting him! It was supposed to be a preventative to keep the demodex under control by clearing out his skin so we could avoid new outbreaks. He hasn't broken out with mange again, but he is in MUCH MORE pain and MORE skin damage as a result!

I will NEVER buy this product or this brand again.

I use this on my horse as well as our french bull dog. My horse gets some kind of summer skin thing going on between his front legs. This has work the best for him I have used many other medicated shampoos. This seems to really help.

    Great Shampoo!

I had talked to a veterinarian online explaining this issue with my yorkie. She had terrible itching from allergies and the steroid shots have caused cushing disease. I refuse to give her any more steroids, so we are using vitamin supplements, but the doctor recommended shampoo with specific ingredients. I found DermabenSs and ordered it, within 2 shampoo's the change was dramatic, she was not as oily or stinky at all. I would HIGHLY recommend this shampoo, it is AWESOME!!
