Made with the latest advances in milk replacer formulation and technology, Foster Care stimulates mother's milk. In addition, Foster Care contains two beneficial ingredients: Bio-Mios^® is a mannanoligosaccharide proven to promote the growth of good bacteria for a healthy GI tract by supporting the puppy's natural defenses and IgY, an immunoglobulin, boosts the immune system by providing intestinal immunity and minimizing the potential for diarrhea. Foster Care is also helpful for pregnant, lactating, or convalescing adult dogs as a nutritional supplement. Great for conditioning skin and hair coat, it can also be used as a rewarding milk treat or flavor enhancer. Not intended for use in exotic animals.

  • Directions for Newborns: Mix with room temperature water (75°) at a rate of 1 Tbsp of powder to 2 Tbsp of water. Unused portion should be refrigerated for not more than 24 hours. Discard any unused formula after 24 hours.
  • Directions for Feeding: This product is intended for supplemental or intermittent feeding only. When possible, the puppy should nurse from the mother for a minimum of 2 days after birth. Warm reconstituted Foster Care Canine Milk Replacer to room or body temperature before serving. Small breed puppies should be fed every 3-4 hours. Large breed puppies should be fed every 6-8 hours. Feed at a rate of 2 Tbsp (1 oz) of liquid formula per 4 oz. of body weight per day. The daily feeding amount should be divided into equal portions at each feeding. Puppies' needs will vary and this amount may need to be increased or decreased depending on the individual puppy. Consult your veterinarian for additional advice.
  • Rewarding Milk Treat: Simply mix with water and feed in a bowl, or pour onto dry dog food to make nutritious gravy. Mix at a rate of 1 Tbsp powder to 2 Tbsp of water = 1½ oz. (1 to 2 ratio). Feed at a rate of 1½ oz of mixed liquid per 15 lbs of body weight up to twice per day.
  • Pregnant and Lactating Mothers: Mix powdered Foster Care Canine into the pregnant mom's daily food ration at the rate of 2 tsp per 5 lbs of body weight. Continue using until the puppies are weaned.
  • Show and Working Dogs: Foster Care features special blended oils to help with skin and hair coat conditioning. Top dress by sprinkling on the food at a rate of 1 Tbsp per 15 lbs body weight (up to twice per day).

May be used with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs), such as Rimadyl or Deramaxx.

  • Thiamine, also known as Vitamin B₁ is essential to the body to process carbohydrates. It is also important for the development and operation of nerves, muscle cells, and brain functions.
